Official Website Home | Policies | Ranks | Knowledge Base | Image Gallery | Forums Purpose of the Duelists' Guild Although every guild in existence has a social environment through guild chat, the leadership of the Duelists' Guild monitors its guild chat channel to ensure that all members treat one another with respect. Any guild member who is a disruption to the friendly, laid back atmosphere of the guild chat is removed. Furthermore, guild policy dictates that although no subject matter is taboo in general, any subject that offends those currently listening to the channel must be taken to a different venue. The Duelists' Guild promotes a simplistic, but strict policy with regard to the proper conduct of dueling. This both protects the reputation of the guild in the face of the general public and encourages that public to keep dueling friendly, fair and productive. All members of the Duelists' Guild ranked above initiate are exempt from any charge for professional services above and beyond the cost of materials, a benefit especially valuable for top shelf products that usually boast a HUGE markup, such as the largest bags, the best enchantments and the most powerful professionally made weapons and armor. The Duelists' Guild hosts a PvP forum on this website as well as a growing "Knowledge Base" created and maintained by its members to provide detailed PvP information about various classes, races, locations and situations so that its members may be better prepared to meet new challenges. By designing and enforcing its policies without bias, the guild leadership ensures that all the promises it makes to its members hold true. Biased decision making, favoritism and exceptions to guild policy are always to be avoided in an effort to improve the guild experience for the members of the Duelists' Guild. All guild policies are designed with these priorities in mind. Although ocassional accidental disregard for these rules may be tolerated to an extent, the guild leadership reserves the right to remove members that interfere with the guild's success in satisfying the aforementioned priorities. See the Policies page for detailed policy information. Statement of Non-Purpose Although you may very well find a group in guild to run through an instance for experience, treasure, et cetera, it is not the focus of the guild to make instance runs (like Molten Core) on a regular basis. If you are looking for a guild filled with 60's that does nothing but run instances all day, you're still looking. None of the members of the guild (including the leadership) have an obligation to 'walk' lower level members through instances or other difficult quests OR to hand out free items and money. It's certainly possible that one of our many very friendly members might be glad to help you out, but do not expect it. Our guild is not a PvP machine, so to speak. All members are free to play their characters, including choice of profession, however they please. No one is expected to contribute any of their gameplay decisions, time, or other resources to other members of the guild for any purpose, even if it would mean a benefit to the guild overall. Some guilds have a great system for making sure choice of class and profession amongst guild members works very efficiently, but because this involves taking some freedom away from members, our guild does not. |
